In May 2016 Prof. Dr. Gunnar Rätsch joined the Institute of Machine Learning at ETH Zurich where he leads the Biomedical Informatics Group. Before that, he was an Associate Professor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. His group’s research lies at the interface of methods research in machine learning and genomics with relevant application areas in biology and medicine. The Rätsch group is highly collaborative and driven by translating the plethora of available clinical and biomedical data into interpretable models towards improving disease understanding and patient outcomes.
